It was a dark and stormy night when we arrived in Harrisburg on Saturday. Fortunately the next day dawned bright and sunny, the kind of day too beautiful to spend indoors. Jim and Carol Nelson, my host family, took me to visit Wildwood Park, a scenic wetlands reserve straddling Harrisburg and Susquehanna Township. Amazingly it is located right next to an interstate highway! Due to all the rain the river had flooded the path around the lake, but we managed to have a nice 3 mile hike nonetheless. I was too slow to photograph the elusive muskrat, and had to settle for some geese.
